Editors Corner
It is June and that means that Americade and the Beyond Americade events are just around the corner. The Beyond Americade schedule has been updated and should be current with all the events and festivities that we know about.
Brit is having her annual biker bash at the Boars Nest. Ashes Hotel in Warrensburg is having a series of events with live music and barbecue. The First United Methodist Church in Warrensburg is having a Chicken and Biscuit Dinner as well. Sporty at Sporty’s Iron Duke Saloon in association with the Goat Brothers are having their annual custom bike show.
The vendors are already starting to set up in Warrensburg and it appears there will be vendors set up on north Main Street in the vicinity of the Post Office and it also appears that there will be vendors set up in the vacant lot just north of Rob’s Motorsports.
We would like to take this opportunity to welcome two new advertisers to the North Country Rider family. The Long Horn Restaurant and Pub and Ashes Hotel and Pub have both signed on for multiple issues. They support us so that we can publish this magazine and we would ask that you consider them in your event plans or dinner plans.
Karen and I went to Lake Placid on 5/6/11 through 5/7/11 to cover the departure of the Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America. Check out the article, we think you will find it interesting.
I was not able to attend the Patriot Guard Riders Help On The Home Front ride as I had a prior family commitment. There is not much
that will keep me from going on a run but a granddaughter’s prom is at the top of the list. Trust me; it was worth missing the ride. Since I could not attend, I asked Big Dan Nolin if he would cover the ride for us and he did. His first article appears in this issue. Speaking of Big Dan, he was honored by being asked to lay a wreath at the Tomb Of The Unknown Soldier during this past Memorial Day Weekend. We asked him to write an article about the experience and we hope that he does.
We are continually trying to expand the services that we provide to our subscribers. Starting with this issue we have turned on the Classified Ads System. In order to use it, you have to be a subscriber and you have to log into the site. We did this to keep the spam and other assorted crap out of the Classified Ad System. A couple of items that we would like you to think about:
- We suggest that you DO NOT put information such as your phone numbers and addresses in the ads. Try and restrict the contact information to an e-mail address.
- We, meaning the magazine are not responsible if you make bad purchasing decisions.
- We are not going to police this on a regular basis. However, if you believe that some form of abuse is occurring we encourage you to send us an e-mail with the information.
- Clean up after yourself. If you have sold and item, mark it as being sold so that you do not continue to be contacted about it.
We have added a humor section where we will put up videos that are just plain funny. See “Best Wife Ever” in this issue. If you come across a humorous video, please feel free to submit it to us and if we like it it we may put it up in a future issue.
Once again we ask that if you use the magazine that you subscribe to it. Subscribers are what we use to entice businesses to advertise with us. It takes very little time to subscribe, we do not want any personal information and we do not sell our subscriber list. So please subscribe and be counted.
