Warrensburg Bike Week 2010
In May we published a tentative schedule for Warrensburg Bike Week 2010. This is the actual schedule of events for Warrensburg Bike Week 2010.
It all started eight or so years ago when a Ed Zibro rented a vacant piece of property on Main Street in Warrensburg near the Post Office and offered spaces to vendors who were not associated with Americade.
As each Americade passed, more and more vendors came to the 'Burg' to set up shop. It is a great place to do business. There are a large number of vendors located up and down Main Street, the parking is free and it is only a five minute ride north on Route 9 from the Village of Lake George and the natives are relatively friendly.
With a continuous flow of bikes in and out of town it was the perfect environment for the locals to start hosting events and rides and what used to be a loose gaggle of vendors started to become organized and eventually became known as Warrensburg Bike Week. Each year more events are added, most of which support local charities or not for profit organizations.
Vendor Locations
All vendor locations are on Main Street.
Vendors are guaranteed to be located in the following locations.
In the vacant lot just north of the Post Office on the right hand side of upper Main Street. Map and Directions
In the vacant lot located at 3971 Main Street which is on the left hand side of upper Main Street. This lot used to house QVN Motors. The sign is still there even though the business is not. Map and Directions

The North Country Ministries contributes to the well being of the people in the area both physically and spiritually. They are one of the many organizations that will receive a benefit from Warrensburg Bike Week.
They will be staffing an Information and Registration Booth at their headquarters on 3399 Main Street across from the post office. Stop by and register with Warrensburg Bike Week so that they are able to inform you of the schedule of events for next year.

Benefit Poker Draw to support the North Country Ministries. The fee to register for the poker draw will be $20.00. When you register you will be given a list of area businesses that are particpating in the poker draw. When you visit a business on the list, your list will be stamped and that will allow you to draw one card on June 11th at North Country Ministries located at 3399 Main Street. Adirondack Log Homes Run and Tour.
Various local log home builders and manufacturers will be in the QVN lot and they are planning a run or series of runs which will take you to 4 model log homes in the Adirondack area. The run distance is approximately 70 miles and covers some of the best riding in the lower Adirondacks and has the added benefit of the log home tours.
There is no information available about the schedule, departure dates and times and I get the impression that the schedule is fluid based on the number of registrants. Registration is at the QVN lot and details of the rides will be provided there. If we get any firm dates and times, we will update this schdule and send out a newsletter indicating that this article has been updated.

6/5/2010 Charity Ride for local resident Tami Benoit
Tami is recovering from thyroid cancer and this run is to assist Tami and her family with expenses.
The ride will depart from Ashes Hotel on Hudson Street and return to Ashes Hotel in time for the participants to attend the concert being held in the Town Center at 1:00 PM
Registration is from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM and the ride departs at 10:00 AM.
A breakfast buffet is included and will be served starting at 8:30 AM.
The cost is $15.00 per rider or $20.00 per couple.

A concert at the Band Stand in the center of town featuring the band "Chain Lightning". The authorities close down one of the streets and this surely will turn into an old fashioned street dance.

6/6/2010 Breakfast to support the Elementary School Playground Fund
Breakfast will be served at the Warrensburg Elementary School Cafeteria from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The Elementary School is located at 1 James Street. Map and Directions to the Elementary School.
The proceeds will enable the Warrensburg Elementary School Playground Committee to install new playground equipment and a new playground environment at the Elementary School.
We would highly encourage you to take advantage of this event.
6/6/2010 Blessing of the Bikes
Father Cornelius of the Holy Cross Church will conduct the Blessing of the Bikes in the HHHN parking lot at 9:15 AM. The HHHN parking lot is located at 3767 Main Street across from the Holly Cross Church.
Father Cornelius may arrive on his scooter dressed in his robes. That alone makes it worth attending.
6/6/2010 Ashes Bike Week Summer Kick Off Party
There is a $5.00 per person cover charge for the party. The proceeds will be used to benefit the VFW Post #4821 Scholarship Fund for Children of Veterans.
At 12:00 PM the band "Chain Lightning" will be providing the entertainment.
The Refridgerators, an 11 piece horn band will be entertaining starting at 4:00 PM.
There will be a BBQ available for an additional fee.

This is an all day event at Ashes Hotel on Hudson Street featuring contests, a bike show, Tattoo artists and a chicken BBQ.
DJ Scott Johnson will be on hand to play your favorite tunes and there will be a Karaoke contest as well.
At 5:00 PM the band "Country Express" will entertain
6/11/2010 Charity Event for the Jack Falvo III Foundation at Ashes Hotel
There is a $5.00 charge at the door and the proceeds from this event will be used by the foundation to help establish a Hospitality Home where families can stay while their loved ones are recovering at the Sunnyview Rehabilitation Center in Schenectady NY.

6/12/2010 A Poker Run to Benefit The North Country Ministries
The Poker Run is being sponsored by the Flaming Pumpkins MC and will depart CB's Restaurant & Pub at 222 River Street.
This is a wet ride through the Adirondacks.
From CB's the ride will proceed to Minerva with a refreshment stop at Sporty's Iron Duke Saloon. From Sporty's the ride will proceed to Newcomb where there will be a stop at the Newcomb House. From the Newcomb house the ride will proceed through Long Lake to Indian Lake where it will stop at the Bear Trap for what else, refreshments (anyone seeing a pattern here). A departure from the Bear Trap will lead the participants to Laura's in North Creek for yet more refreshments. From Laura's the ride proceeds to J & J's Fox Laire Tavern in Bakers Mills where there will be a pig roast. I took this ride last year and it was a blast and the pig roast was fantastic.
As mentioned, the ride forms at CB's on River Street. Registration is from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM with clutches out at 11:00 AM.
The cost of participation for the ride is $15.00 per rider or $20.00 per couple which includes the cost of the pig roast.
Awards are as follow
1st Place - $300.00
2nd Place - $200.00
3rd Place - $100.00

6/12/2010 Sporty's Annual Bike Show in Association with the Goat Brothers
The bike show begins at 12:00 PM and there is a $10.00 admission charge.
There will be entertainment, food, bikes and vendors.

Some additional notes on the activities at Ashes Hotel.
Unless otherwise noted the daily BBQ consists of hamburgers, hot dogs, sausage and peppers, cold salads and chips and occurs from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM
You must be 21 years of age with proper ID to participate in any of the activities
